Description
Stress, anxiety and depression can be linked to dissociation. This painting helps describe just a small fraction of how this disorder feels. Sometimes you feel detached from the world, your own body and your very thoughts. Depersonalization disorder is a dissociative disorder that can feel like an out of body experience. Sometimes you can only hold on for so long before you must let go.
This image has been floating (har, har) in my head for quite some time so I really enjoyed painting this one. A lot of layers went into that starry scene. Whew.

I totally understand about depression and anxiety because I've had both on and off for many years, but I'm doing so much better recently because of meds and therapy. I like the sky with the stars and the galaxy. When I first saw this I interpreted it the other way, with the rabbit floating down from dreamy space to return to waking ground.
